Privacy Policy
Plain language first. We collect as little as we can, never sell or share it, and delete artwork on a schedule.
Effective and last updated
Notice at collection
We collect contact details, order details, the artwork you upload and basic technical data to take, print and deliver orders, answer messages and keep the site secure — and, only if you allow it, cookieless analytics. We do not sell or share personal information. Artwork is deleted after 180 days; order records are kept for 7 years. See how long we keep it and Your Privacy Choices.
01Who we are
Blueprint Print Co (“Blueprint”, “we”, “us”) is a print shop in Panorama City, California, United States. This policy covers blueprintprintco.com and the orders, messages and files that come to us through it. We decide how this information is used, so we are responsible for it.
Checkout is hosted by Shopify. Anything you enter on the checkout pages is handled under this policy and under Shopify’s own privacy policy.
02What we collect
We collect only what it takes to price, print and deliver an order and to answer you.
| What | Examples | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Contact details | Name, email address, phone number | You — forms, email, checkout |
| Order details | Products, sizes, quantities, prices, shipping and billing address, order history | You, at checkout, via Shopify |
| Payment information | Card or wallet details — entered on Shopify’s checkout; we see only a summary such as the card type | Shopify and its payment processors |
| Artwork | Files you attach to an order, their names and sizes | You, when you add an item to your cart |
| Messages | What you write to us through a form or email | You |
| Technical data | IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, time of request | Your browser, automatically, as with any website |
| Analytics — only if you allow it | Pages viewed, referring site, country, device class, page-load timings | Your browser, via Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights |
We do not collect sensitive personal information such as government ID numbers, precise location, health information or biometrics, and we do not buy information about you from anyone.
03Your artwork
When you drop a file into the artwork checker, the check runs entirely inside your own browser. Nothing is uploaded at that point.
The file is uploaded only when you add the item to your cart. It is stored with Vercel Blob under a long random address, and that address travels with your order so we can print from it. Anyone holding the exact address could open the file, so treat it like an unlisted link. We use your artwork only to produce, check and reprint your order, and we never use it in our own marketing without asking you first.
Uploaded files are deleted automatically 180 days after upload. If you want a file removed sooner, email us and we will delete it.
04Messages you send us
When you use the contact or custom-quote form we receive your name, email, phone number if you give one, what you wrote, and — if you checked a file first — the results of that check (never the file itself). We use this only to reply and to quote your job. We do not add you to a mailing list.
Form submissions are delivered to our inbox by an email delivery provider. If that service is unavailable, the form offers to open the message in your own email app instead, and nothing is stored on our site.
05Orders and checkout
Your cart is kept in your browser’s local storage on your own device until you check out. When you press checkout you are taken to Shopify’s secure checkout, where you enter your contact, delivery and payment details. Shopify processes payments to PCI DSS Level 1 standards, and we never see or store full card numbers.
Shopify then gives us what we need to fulfil the order: your name, contact details, delivery address, the items ordered and the artwork links attached to them. We share your delivery details with the shipping carrier that delivers your parcel.
06Analytics and cookies
This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no cross-site tracking. The only cookie we set remembers your privacy choices. Your cart uses local storage on your device.
If — and only if — you choose “Allow analytics”, we load Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights. They use no cookies, report only aggregate figures such as page views and load times, and we strip query strings from page addresses before anything is sent. You can change your mind at any time from “Cookie settings” in the footer. The full list is in our cookie policy.
07How we use it, and why we are allowed to
- To take, print and deliver your order and to handle reprints and refunds — because it is necessary to perform our contract with you.
- To answer messages and quote jobs — at your request, before you enter into a contract with us.
- To keep the site secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and rate-limit automated traffic — our legitimate interest in running a safe service.
- To keep tax and accounting records — because the law requires it.
- To understand which pages work and how fast they load — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
We do not use your information for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
09No selling, no sharing, no ads
We do not sell personal information, we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use it for targeted advertising — and we have not done so in the past 12 months. We have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the information of anyone under 16. You can still record an opt-out at any time on Your Privacy Choices, and we will honor it.
10How long we keep it
| Information | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Uploaded artwork files | 180 days from upload, then deleted automatically |
| Order and payment records | 7 years, to meet tax and accounting obligations |
| Messages and quotes that did not become an order | Up to 24 months after our last exchange |
| Your cart | On your device until you check out, empty it or clear your browser data |
| Your privacy choices | 12 months in a cookie on your device, then we ask again |
| Server and security logs | Held by our hosting provider for a short, limited period for security and troubleshooting |
11Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy (access and portability);
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete your information, subject to records we must keep by law;
- stop any sale or sharing of it, and opt out of targeted advertising (we do neither);
- withdraw consent to analytics at any time.
To make a request, email info@blueprintdtla.com or call (213) 205-8543. We will confirm receipt within 10 days and respond within 45 days; if we need longer (up to a further 45 days) we will tell you why. To protect you, we verify requests by matching details we already hold, such as the email address and an order number. You may use an authorized agent, who will need your signed permission. We will never charge you, deny you service, or give you a different price or quality because you exercised these rights.
If we decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our decision with the word “Appeal”. We will answer within 45 days. If you are still not satisfied, you may contact your state attorney general or data protection authority.
12California residents
The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you the rights above. In the past 12 months we collected the following categories and disclosed them only for business purposes:
| Category | Collected | Disclosed to | Sold or shared |
|---|---|---|---|
| Identifiers (name, email, phone, postal address, IP address) | Yes | Shopify, Vercel, email providers, carriers | No |
| Customer records under Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.80(e) | Yes | Shopify, payment processors, carriers | No |
| Commercial information (orders, purchase history) | Yes | Shopify | No |
| Internet or network activity (pages viewed, device, performance) | Yes | Vercel | No |
| Approximate geolocation (country or region derived from IP) | Yes | Vercel, Shopify | No |
| Visual information (artwork files you upload) | Yes | Vercel | No |
| Sensitive personal information | No — card details are entered on and handled by Shopify | — | No |
We do not collect protected classifications, biometric, professional, education or inference data, and we offer no financial incentives in exchange for personal information. Under California’s “Shine the Light” law (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.83), we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing.
13Other states and countries
Residents of states with their own privacy laws — including Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Virginia — have the same rights described above, and we honor them for everyone regardless of whether a given law applies to a business our size.
We are based in the United States and our providers store data here. If you contact us from the UK, the European Economic Area or elsewhere, your information is transferred to the United States; where the law requires it, our providers rely on approved safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
14Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information, and we also switch analytics off for that browser — automatically, with no banner to click. Browsers’ older “Do Not Track” setting has no agreed standard; because we do no cross-site tracking and analytics already needs your consent, there is nothing further for it to switch off.
15Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
16Security
The whole site is served only over HTTPS with strict transport security and a content security policy. Access to order and message data is limited to the people who run the shop, and payments never touch our systems. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever affected your information we would tell you as the law requires.
17Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date at the top of the page. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold, we will point it out on the site before it takes effect.
